Rain-dependent rice yields in India could decrease by 20% by 2050 and by 47% by 2080, while wheat yields could fall by 19.3% and 40% in the same respective periods. Vijayan called for urgent attention and sustained efforts to mitigate these effects on the agricultural sector.
