Jammu & Kashmir: Acting on precise intelligence inputs, a joint search and destroy operation was launched by the Indian Army’s 16 Corps and Jammu & Kashmir Police in the Chhatru forest area of Kishtwar district on April 9, 2025.
According to an official statement from the Army’s 16 Corps, contact with terrorists was established in the late evening hours of the same day. A fierce exchange of fire followed, resulting in the neutralisation of one terrorist.
The operation unfolded in challenging conditions, with hostile terrain and inclement weather posing significant difficulties for the personnel involved. Despite this, the troops pressed forward with relentless resolve, determined to ensure the region remains free from militant threats.
