BY A STAFF REPORTER: Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Wayanad, constituency, Kerala on April 3, Wednesday.
Moreover, Rahul Gandhi is the incumbent MP from Wayanad. He will be competing against CPI's Lok Sabha Candidate Annie Raja and BJP's Candidate K Surendran who is also the state President of BJP.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi also held a roadshow in Wayanad along with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. He also addressed the people of Wayanad with the help of a translator. Gandhi assured that the people of Wayanad are not just an electorate but like his younger sister, Priyanka, for him. Gandhi raised the medical college issue, a focal point of Congress in Wayanad.
Rahul Gandhi has served as an MP from Wayanad since 2019. He was defeated by the current Union minister Smriti Irani in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh in the 2019 general elections. Rahul Gandhi served as an MP from Amethi since 2004.
