Nitish Kumar Wins Bihar Floor Test With 129 Votes

In a landmark move, the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar passed the floor test conducted in the Bihar Assembly on 12th February, Monday in Patna.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a landmark move, the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar passed the floor test conducted in the Bihar Assembly on 12th February, Monday in Patna.

Moreover, 129 MLAs voted in the favour of NDA Alliance. Surprisingly, three RJD MLAs namely Chetan Anand, Neelam Devi, and Prahlad Yadav also voted in the favour of NDA alliance. Subsequently, opposition members started walking out of the assembly

Nitish Kumar crossed the majority mark (128) with the support of JD(U)'s 45 MLAs, BJP's 79 MLAs and HAM(S)'s four legislators. The NDA needed 128 votes to form the government. 

The floor test for the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar is underway in the Bihar Assembly. The current chief minister Nitish Kumar resigned from his post and formed a new government with the aid of the BJP on 28th January. Earlier in 2022, he had left NDA and joined the Bihar Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) which comprised Lalu Yadav's RJD, Congress, and three other parties
