Gatlin takes retirement

By a Staff Reporter: Gatlin retires. He won gold at the 2004 Olympics. He has long been a controversial figure in the doping controversy. Announcing his retirement on social media, he wrote, "Dear Track, I love you. You have given me all the gifts of sorrow, joy, tears, success, failure. I have received from you the message of courage, wisdom and peace. The lessons I have learned from you to walk in life will never be erased. The torch of moving along the track may go to someone else this time. But your love will never fade. On your mark, gate, set."
