The new deal between Tokyo and Moscow

By a Staff Reporter:  Japan has strongly condemned Russia's attacks in Ukraine since the beginning. Tokyo has imposed sanctions on Moscow by standing beside the United States. Not only that, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has also demanded that the Putin administration be prosecuted for war crimes. However, despite the objections to the war, it is clear that Japan does not have any dislike for Russian fish. The two countries have signed an agreement on fishing. According to sources, an agreement has been signed between Russia and Japan on the hunting of salmon and trout fish. Japan's fisheries department said on Saturday that the two countries had signed an agreement on the allocation of salmon and trout fish grown in Russian rivers. As a result, Japanese fishermen will be able to hunt 2,050 tonnes of salmon and trout fish grown in Russia in their "distinct economic zone". Japan will pay Russia about 200 million yen ($1.56 million) in fees. The deal was signed between Moscow and Tokyo last year. However, this year, tensions between the two countries are running high in the wake of the War in Ukraine. As a result, japanese fishermen were suffering from some fear.
