Pune: In a step toward enhancing bilateral defense cooperation, a six-member delegation from the Russian Army, led by Major General Marchenko Andei, visited the College of Military Engineering (CME), Pune from March 26 to 28, 2025, as part of the Subject Matter Experts Exchange Programme.
The delegation interacted with Lieutenant General AK Ramesh, Commandant of CME, and engaged in discussions on training methodologies, infrastructure, and operational experiences. The visit focused on sharing best practices in military training and combat strategies, reflecting the ongoing collaboration between the armed forces of both nations.
According to the Indian Army’s official statement, the Russian delegation toured various faculties at CME, exchanging insights on engineering advancements and battlefield applications. The visit marks yet another initiative aimed at deepening India-Russia defense ties, particularly in the field of military education and training.
India and Russia have long-standing defense cooperation, including joint military exercises, training programs, and strategic partnerships. Experts believe such interactions enhance interoperability and mutual learning, strengthening military preparedness in both nations.
