By A Staff Reporter : The social media platform Tik Tok Is being sued in California by the parents of two girls who died while trying  a TikTok "blackout challenge" in 2021, which encouraged users to choke themselves until they passed out. A was filed  in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday.The mother of a 10-year-old girl named Nylah Anderson filed a lawsuit against TikTok, alleging that her daughter died while taking  the 'blackout challenge.' The lawsuit claimed a 14-year-old Australian boy, a 10-year-old Italian girl, a 12-year-old boy in Colorado, United States, and a 12-year-old boy in Oklahoma, United States, all died while participating in the blackout challenge in April 2020, January 2021, April 2021, and July 2021, respectively.



Matthew Bergman , an attorney at the social media victims law centre , which filed the suit said ,’’ Tik Tok needs to be held accountable for pushing to these two young girl’’. She also added that  Tik Tok has invested billions of dollars to intentionally  design products that push dangerous content which can result in death of its users . ​
