New Delhi: The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has booked former Delhi minister and AAP leader Satyendar Jain in connection with alleged corruption in the ₹571-crore CCTV project. Reacting to the development, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva claimed that AAP’s corruption has been "finally exposed."

"AAP's corruption is finally exposed in connection with the CCTV project corruption case. AAP leader and ex-minister Satyendar Jain received a ₹7 crore bribe for arbitrarily waiving liquidated damages worth ₹16 crore that was imposed on Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for delays in installing CCTV cameras across Delhi," Sachdeva alleged.

The case revolves around the installation of CCTV cameras across the national capital, a project initiated under the AAP government. According to the ACB, BEL, the firm responsible for executing the project, faced a penalty for missing deadlines. The agency claims Jain used his influence to waive the fine in exchange for a bribe.

While the AAP has yet to issue an official response, party sources have dismissed the allegations as politically motivated. This comes amid ongoing tensions between the AAP and the BJP, with both parties frequently trading corruption charges.
