The battle of attrition between legendary author Nirad C Chaudhuri's son and Calcutta Club continued with Prithvi N Chaudhuri demanding the CBE medal which was awarded to his father. In a letter to the President of Calcutta Club and members of the managing committee, Prithvi Choudhuri mentioned that,

``In the matter of the demise of HM Queen Elizabeth II and the memorial service to be held at the Westminster Abbey London, I wish to inform you that I as the next of kin of late Dr. Nirad C. Chaudhuri CBE who was awarded the title of the Order of the Commander of the British Empire and as I still continue to be a beneficiary of the Queen's Council, will be attending the memorial service and according to the protocol will be carrying the CBE medal which was awarded to my late father by the Queen Elizabeth II in 1992.''

Speaking to ANM News news, Prithvi Choudhuri said that he had requested for an urgent delivery of the CBE medal at his residence ``but so far nothing has happened.''
