New Delhi | Marking World Health Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday reiterated the government's commitment to building a healthier and more resilient nation, emphasizing the importance of healthcare as a cornerstone for national progress.
In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said, "On World Health Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to building a healthier world. Our Government will keep focusing on healthcare and invest in different aspects of people’s well-being. Good health is the foundation of every thriving society."
The Prime Minister’s message comes as the government continues to expand healthcare initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat, which provides health coverage to millions of economically vulnerable families across the country.
With a focus on preventive care, digital health infrastructure, and equitable access, India’s health policy has seen significant budgetary support in recent years. PM Modi’s statement also aligns with the World Health Organization’s 2025 theme, which emphasizes "My Health, My Right," advocating for universal access to quality healthcare services.
