Chennai | BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan has launched a strong attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, criticizing him for offering "nothing" to the people during his recent visit to Ooty, while contrasting it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s allocation of development projects worth ₹8,000 crore to the state.
Addressing reporters, Soundararajan said, “The Chief Minister claimed that he gave nothing to the people of Tamil Nadu during his Ooty trip. But at the same time, the Prime Minister gave Tamil Nadu development projects worth ₹8,000 crore. Someone who is about to be knocked out is talking about the dugout.”
Drawing parallels with the recent Telangana elections, the BJP leader recalled how former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) had boycotted PM Modi during visits to the state, which she claimed contributed to his political downfall. “When Prime Minister Modi brought good schemes to Telangana, CM KCR boycotted him. In return, the people of Telangana boycotted him in the election,” she said.
Soundararajan warned that if the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister continued to display what she called “disregard” for the Prime Minister and his development initiatives, the people of Tamil Nadu might respond similarly at the polls. “The Prime Minister, who said he would stand by the Tamil people in every way, was not welcomed by the Chief Minister, which shows a lack of concern,” she added.
