Congress Announces First List Of Candidates for Rajya Sabha Elections

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a significant development, the Indian National Congress released its first list of candidates on 14th February, Wednesday for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections. 

As per the official notification released by All India Congress Committee (AICC), Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved the candidature of Sonia Gandhi from Rajsthan and Dr. Akhilesh Prasad Singh from Bihar. Moreover, Abhishek Manu Singhvi has been placed in Himachal Pradesh and Chandrakant Handore from Maharashtra.

As former Prime Minister and Congress MP Manmohan Singh, who was elected from Rajasthan, is set to retire in April this year, Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi has filed nomination from Rajasthan. Previously, she was repeatedly elected from Rae Bareli im Uttar Pradesh.
