Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday reaffirmed his support for a Bill introduced by a fellow minister, asserting that certain misconceptions surrounding the legislation were being spread deliberately for political motives.

Speaking in Parliament, Shah said, "I stand in support of the Bill introduced by my ministerial colleague. I have been carefully hearing the discussion going on since 12 noon. I feel that there are several misconceptions among several Members, either genuinely or politically. Also, through this House, attempts are being made to spread those misconceptions across the country."

While he did not specify the exact nature of the alleged misconceptions, Shah’s remarks indicated his concern over the narrative being shaped around the Bill. The Home Minister's comments come amid heated debates in Parliament, where opposition leaders have raised objections to the proposed legislation, arguing that it may have far-reaching consequences.
