New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced that the Odia Prav festival will now be officially celebrated by the Delhi government every year. She made the announcement while addressing the Odisha Divas Samaroh in the capital.

"Modi ji's principle is 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat,' and Delhi is a live example of this, as people from different regions come and reside here," Gupta said. She emphasized Delhi’s role as a melting pot of cultures, where people from all states contribute to its growth.

The announcement of Odia Prav aims to recognize and honor the Odia community’s rich cultural heritage and contributions in Delhi. Odisha Divas, celebrated on April 1, marks the formation of the state in 1936 and is observed with pride by Odias worldwide.
