Chennai, Tamil Nadu — AIADMK National Spokesperson Kovai Sathyan launched a sharp attack on Tamil Nadu Minister K. Ponmudy’s controversial remarks, accusing Chief Minister MK Stalin of not taking decisive action and undermining Hindu beliefs. Sathyan claimed that Stalin's failure to act decisively reflected his lack of courage and leadership, calling him "spineless."
Sathyan said, "Action can be taken by a leader who has courage, but you cannot expect any action from a spineless leader like MK Stalin. They will strip his party post, and it will be reinstated after two or three months. This is the DNA of DMK." He further accused the DMK and its ideological allies, including the parent body Dravida Kazhagam (DK), of mocking the beliefs and practices of Hinduism, suggesting that they take pride in doing so.
Sathyan added, "Whatever Ponmudy said is what reflects the ideological belief of DMK and their ecosystem. They go to any extent to mock a particular religion, especially Hinduism, and they are masters of it."
The controversy erupted after Ponmudy made remarks that were perceived as offensive to Hindu sentiments. Stalin's response, according to Sathyan, was motivated by internal party politics, particularly his desire to prevent Kanimozhi from receiving credit for addressing the issue. "He doesn’t want the credit to go to his sister, who was the one to flag and condemn the issue," Sathyan alleged.
