Kolkata: West Bengal Leader of Opposition (LoP) Suvendu Adhikari has launched a fresh attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging that she is tactically using Congress and the CPM to divide Hindu votes in the state.

"Mamata Banerjee has kept Congress and CPM aside to split the Hindu vote. She keeps them as a third force, like in the last Parliament election, when Congress and CPM got 5.5 per cent of the vote. BJP’s 12 candidates lost by less than a lakh votes. This is Mamata Banerjee's very calculated plan," Adhikari said.

His remarks come as political tensions rise ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, with BJP looking to strengthen its presence in West Bengal. Adhikari’s claim suggests that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) is strategically managing opposition forces to weaken BJP’s prospects in key constituencies.
