Chennai, Tamil Nadu — In a strong statement released by the DMK, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and DMK President condemned the AIADMK-BJP alliance, calling it "an alliance of defeat," which has been repeatedly rejected by the people of Tamil Nadu. They also criticized Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent press briefing during his visit to Chennai, stating that it was unworthy of his position.

Stalin and the DMK leadership pointed out that, despite the repeated electoral losses, Amit Shah was attempting to revive the failed alliance, without offering any clarity on its purpose or ideological foundation. The statement read, “Though it is his choice to confirm the AIADMK-BJP alliance, he did not clarify why this alliance was formed or on what ideological foundation it stands. Instead, he vaguely claimed they would work on forming a ‘common minimum programme.’”

The DMK further took issue with the inconsistency in the AIADMK's stance, highlighting their opposition to key issues like the NEET exam, the imposition of Hindi, the three-language policy, the Waqf Act, and the proposed delimitation process. Stalin questioned whether these concerns were included in the alliance’s so-called “minimum programme,” adding, “Are any of these issues part of their so-called ‘minimum programme’?"
