Agra, Uttar Pradesh — Samajwadi Party MP Ramji Lal Suman has spoken out following protests announced by the Karni Sena in Agra, triggered by his remarks about Rana Sanga in Parliament. The protests coincided with the birth anniversary of the Rajput king, with the Karni Sena accusing Suman of disrespecting Rana Sanga's legacy.
Suman, speaking about the controversy, stated, “Many ‘Karni Sena’ members are roaming here... What I said in Parliament, people may have different opinions, but there are other ways to show disagreement. If someone is hurt, people should use the constitutional way. Violence is not accepted here.”
The MP condemned the attempts to escalate the situation through violence, calling such actions detrimental to the country. “What should I do when I receive threats? They tried to finish my family and came up with a bulldozer at my home; what options do I have left? I have to go to the court, and I did that,” he explained, referring to the threats he received after the controversial statement.
