Mumbai — In response to BJP's praise over the extradition of Tahawwur Rana, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut hit back, stating that the extradition process was long underway and wasn’t solely the achievement of the BJP-led central government.

Speaking to reporters, Raut said, "They (referring to BJP-led central government) have extradited Tahawwur Rana, but they should also extradite David Headley. This is not BJP's achievement, and the process to extradite him was underway for the past 16 years. It is due to the efforts of the Manmohan Singh and Modi governments that he has been extradited from America."

Raut's remarks came after BJP leaders hailed the extradition as a significant success. He also pointed out that the focus should now shift to other high-profile fugitives still at large, saying, "We still need to extradite Dawood Ibrahim, Tiger Memon, Lalit Modi, and Mehul Choksi."
