Prayagraj, UP – With Mahashivratri approaching, authorities have ramped up security at Mahakumbh to manage the expected surge in devotees. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) DIG M.K. Sharma confirmed that extensive preparations have been made for the holy dip on February 26.

“We have deployed extra boats and manpower here. Our divers remain on high alert. Additionally, we are working in close coordination with the Jal Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the flood units of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC),” DIG Sharma stated.

A reconnaissance of key areas was conducted alongside Jal Police to assess potential challenges. The administration is focused on ensuring a safe and smooth experience for devotees, with enhanced surveillance and crowd management strategies in place.

“We are fully prepared to meet the challenge,” Sharma assured.
