A significant surge in crowd numbers is expected at Prayagraj’s Mahakumbh on the occasion of Shivratri. While the administration has assured full preparedness, past experiences have prompted heightened vigilance this time.
Mahakumbh DIG Vaibhav Krishna stated that all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth and orderly celebration. With over one crore devotees having already taken the holy dip, authorities anticipate an even larger gathering in the coming days. Special measures are in place to prevent traffic congestion in the Kumbh area.
Additionally, the administration has taken strict action against the spread of fake news and misleading content. Surveillance has been intensified on 140 social media handles, resulting in 13 FIRs being filed against those responsible for spreading misinformation.
DIG Vaibhav Krishna assured, “No matter how large the crowd gets, we are fully prepared. Maximum vigilance is being maintained by police and other agencies to ensure the safety and order of the Kumbh Mela.”
