New Delhi | Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday raised concerns in the Lok Sabha over India's border situation with China and the impact of US-imposed reciprocal tariffs. He accused the government of lacking transparency regarding territorial issues and questioned its stance on trade policies affecting India's economy.

"There should be status quo, and we should get our land back," Gandhi asserted, referring to the ongoing standoff at the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He further claimed that information about diplomatic exchanges between India and China was being revealed not by Indian officials but by the Chinese ambassador. "We are finding this out not from our own people but from the Chinese ambassador who is telling this," he said, questioning the government’s communication on border negotiations.

On trade, Gandhi expressed alarm over the US decision to impose reciprocal tariffs on Indian exports, warning of severe economic consequences. "This will completely devastate us," he said, urging the government to clarify its strategy to counter these tariffs and protect domestic industries.
