New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tribute to Rani Velu Nachiyar, calling her an epitome of courage and valour, at an event organized by the BJP Mahila Morcha in her memory.
Speaking at the event, Singh highlighted the 18th-century Tamil queen’s fearless resistance against British rule, emphasizing her role as one of India’s earliest freedom fighters. “Her bravery and strategic acumen continue to inspire generations,” he remarked.
The event featured discussions on Rani Velu Nachiyar’s historic battles and leadership, underscoring her significance in India’s struggle against colonialism. Singh also praised the BJP Mahila Morcha for organizing the tribute, reinforcing the importance of remembering women warriors in India’s history.
