The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has threatened to cancel the licences of traders of Lansdowne market if they go on strike and shut their shops. The multipurpose market on Sarat Bose Road is a major draw for raw vegetables, fish and other items of daily chores. The market is in deplorable condition and the KMC claimed that they have been trying to repair and rebuild it over the last few years. ``A section of shopkeepers are not co-operating. We have drawn up a grand repair plan. I have made it clear that KMC will take strong action against anyone trying to put a spanner to our plans,'' member mayor in council, markets, KMC, Amiruddin Bobby said.
