Citizens of Mariupole are facing diseases in addition to shelling and food shortages: Ukrainian official

By a Staff Reporter:  Residents of the besieged Ukrainian city of Mariupole are facing diseases in addition to shelling by Russian forces and lack of food and water. Ukrainian officials said Saturday the city's living conditions were being described as medieval. The ukrainian parliament's official Twitter account said, "Some 100,000 Mariupole citizens are in grave danger not only because of the shelling but also because of intolerable living conditions and unhygienic conditions." Mariupole's citizens are suffering from various diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and Escherichia. Parliament said: "The air temperature has already reached 20 degrees. The decomposition of thousands of bodies under the rubble and catastrophic shortage of water and food could soon lead to a powerful and deadly epidemic in the city. "
