Centre waits for state government NOC to construct hospital in Kolkata
BY A STAFF REPORTER

Centre is waiting for a state government nod to build a state of art hospital in Kolkata. The union government has sanctioned a Rs 200 crore project to build a super speciality hospital in Maniktala.

According to additional commissioner of Employee State Insurance (ESI), Akshay Kala, a vacant plot of huge land with a semi constructed abandoned building is lying inside the ESI Hospital campus in Maniktala.
``We had proposed to build a superspeciality hospital on that land after demolishing the semi constructed abandoned building. Centre will bear the entire cost of the construction pegged at Rs 200 crores. The land also belongs to us,'' he said. According to Kala, the entire project is stuck as they require a NOC from the state government.

``The file is stuck somewhere in the finance department of the state government. We are trying to pursue it to hasten the process,'' he said.
