Former Tripura Governor pipped at the post in Calcutta Club


BY A STAFF REPORTER: Former Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy has slipped behind Pramit Ray in a seesaw battle for the President of Calcutta Club, one of the oldest prestigious institutions of the city. Pramit opened up an almost unassailable 90 vote lead over Tathagata Roy with only two rounds left for counting to end.

Anusua Das, an entrepreneur who had worked hard to bring some positive changes within the Club polled 1228 votes to be in the managing committee. Das polled the highest number of votes among the candidates vying for the managing committee.
