Marione Biotech shuts down production in India due to infant deaths in Uzbekistan

BY A STFF REPORTER: Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya said all production of Marion Biotech in Noida has been stopped at the moment in view of the report of the Central Drug Standard Control Organisation after testing of cough syrup Dock 1 Max. At least 18 children from Uzbekistan died after consuming cough syrup made by an Indian pharmaceutical company yesterday.
After this, the Drug Controller General of India contacted the drug regulatory body of Uzbekistan. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDTC) has launched an investigation to find out if there is indeed a problem with the drug.
