Savarna Roychowdhury's Durga in 18 Annabhoga

 

By a staff Reporter: The Durga Pujo of Savarna Roy Chowdhury is one of the Durga Pujos of the aristocratic house. Worship of this house is done in 8 houses in total. Among them are Atchala Bari, Bara Bari, Benaki Bari, Mejo Bari Pujo, Kalikinkar Bari Pujo, Majher Bari Pujo. The mother is worshiped here following the Durga Bhakti Tarangini rituals composed by Vidyapati. From the saptami to the Dashami, 18 kinds of food are cooked for the mother by tying the cloth on the face.
