Navjot Singh Sidhu steps back

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Navjot Singh Sidhu finally blinked. With pressure mounting on him to sit and talk with chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi, the former cricketer turned maverick politician Sidhu went to Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh and had a detailed two hour discussion with the chief minister. His aides, former hockey olympian Pargat Singh and Congress legislator Gurjit Singh, were present where issues were discussed threadbare. Sidhu and Channi came out after the two hour long meeting following which Sidhu's close aid, Gurjit told media persons that he has withdrawn his resignation and will remain chief of Punjab Congress.
