New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to make a mark in the electric vehicle (EV) market with its 'Made in Gujarat' EVX model. Speaking about the company's global export plans, Rahul Bharti, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs at Maruti Suzuki, highlighted the model’s international debut and future trajectory.
"We have already showcased our 'Made in Gujarat' production version EVX model in Milan, the fashion capital of the world, on an ice-skating rink," Bharti said. He added that the vehicle would be exported to multiple regions, including Europe, Japan, and other Asian countries, apart from being available in India.
"India is our home country, so the EV will also be exported here," Bharti emphasized.
The EVX model is set to make its Indian debut at the Bharat Mobility Show in January 2025, where it will be unveiled to local audiences. The company aims to strengthen its position in the EV market by delivering sustainable, high-quality electric vehicles that cater to both domestic and global demands.
Maruti Suzuki’s move to showcase the EVX internationally before bringing it to the Indian market reflects the company's ambition to the establish itself as a major player in the global EV industry.
