The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday summoned Bangladesh’s Acting High Commissioner to India, Md. Nural Islam, amid growing speculation over diplomatic concerns between the two nations. The summons was confirmed through an official press release issued by the MEA.

"In response to media queries on the summoning of the Bangladesh Acting High Commissioner, the Official Spokesperson, Shri Randhir Jaiswal, said: 'The Bangladesh Acting High Commissioner to India, Mr. Md. Nural Islam, was summoned by the MEA to the South Block today, February 7, 2025, at 5:00 pm,'" the statement read.
