BY A STAFF REPORTER: Azerbaijan on Sunday accused Russia of failing to meet its obligations under the 2020 Moscow-brokered cease-fire agreement to end the fight with Armenia for control of the Nagorno-Karabakh region.

Baku's Foreign Ministry said: "Russia has not ensured the full implementation of the agreement within the framework of its obligations." Baku's Foreign Ministry said Moscow had done nothing to "stop" Armenia's military supplies to separatist forces in the troubled enclave.

In the autumn of 2020, Russia sponsored a cease-fire agreement that ended six weeks of fighting in the mountainous isolated region.

The agreement resulted in Armenia leaving much territory, and Russia deployed peacekeepers to the five-kilometer-wide Lachin Corridor, the only land link between the enclave and Armenia.

Baku recently closed the corridor, raising fears of protests and a humanitarian crisis.
