New York | At the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, US President Joe Biden addressed the escalating global conflicts, particularly emphasizing the ongoing war in Ukraine. In his remarks, he stated, "We stand firm against aggression, we will end the conflicts that are rising today."
Biden highlighted the significance of the international community's response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, noting that standing by merely to protest was not an option. "When Russia invaded Ukraine, VP Harris and I understood that it was an assault and everything this institution was supposed to stand for," he declared. He credited NATO allies and over 50 nations for their unified stance, reinforcing that "the good news is that Putin's war has failed. Ukraine is still free."
The President pointed out that NATO has emerged stronger and more united than before, welcoming new members Finland and Sweden. "The world now has another choice to make," Biden continued, stressing the importance of sustaining support for Ukraine to ensure its victory and preserve its freedom. "I know my answer," he affirmed, vowing that the US will not look away from the aggression and will continue to back Ukraine until "just endurable peace" is achieved. This strong declaration underscores the Biden administration's commitment to defending democratic values and international norms against tyranny.
