Rajkumar Ranjan singh says, "It is my honour to attend the celebration of the National Day of thailand. Being present here today reminds me of my visit to Thailand last year wgich I remember warmly. India and Thailand are close friends and maritime neighbours. Our relations are grounded on civilisational linkages comprising shared history, culture, religion, common beliefs, tradition, linguistic similarities and extensive people-to-people contacts. India 'Act East' and Thailand's 'Act west' policies have provided both countries the basis for a strong and multi-faceted partnership in the traditional and new areas of common interest. Having established our diplomatic ties in 1947, India and Thailand had the privilege of celebrating its 75th anniversary last year. The occasion presented us with an opportunity to assess the strides made in the growth of our bilateral relationship. Over the previous seven had a half decades, civilisational bonds between our countries have tranformed into a substantive partnership."
Rajkumar Ranjan singh also says, "India-Thailand cooperation in the field of education and training in strengthening. The India Study Centres and India Corners have been established in a large number of Universities in Thailand. As part of our cooperation with Thailand, each year we are happy to receive Thai official and students under various scolarship schemes of the Government of India. India looks at Thailand as a key partner in the India-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, East Asia Summit, Mekong Ganga Cooperation, BIMSTEC,Indian Ocean Rim Association(IORA), ACMECS, Asia Cooperation Dialogue and other regional and multilateral fora. We are pleased that Thailand has assumed the chair of BIMSTEC since 2022. Before bringing my remarks to a close, I take the opportunity to extend, on behalf of the Government and the people of India, Warm congratulations and felicitations to Their Majesties the king and the Queen of Thailand and all the people of Thailand."
