Days after the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India released official data on the voter turnout of both phases on April 30, Tuesday.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: Days after the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India released official data on the voter turnout of both phases on April 30, Tuesday.

The first phase recorded 66.14% and the second phase two recorded 66.71% voter turnout. In terms of state-wise voter turnout, West Bengal recorded the highest voter turnout in the first phase at 81.91% while Manipur recorded the highest voter turnout in the second phase. 

Manipur faced re-polling today as EVMs were vandalized on April 26, Friday. Moreover, Manipur faced re-polling in the first phase as well. The third phase of the general elections will be held on May 7.
