By A Staff Reporter — Tezpur, Assam: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, addressing soldiers during Diwali celebrations at Tezpur, revealed a significant breakthrough in diplomatic and military discussions with China concerning the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Singh disclosed that ongoing negotiations aimed at reducing tensions along disputed areas of the LAC have culminated in a consensus to improve ground conditions—an achievement he credited to the steadfast courage and discipline of Indian soldiers.
Singh emphasized, “Your bravery was sensed by everyone, which made these dialogues with China possible. This is truly a major development in the LAC scenario, ensuring peace through mutual understanding.” He acknowledged former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s policy of seeking harmonious relations with neighbors, remarking, “While we wish for positive relations, our government is always prepared to defend our borders if necessary.”
He further assured that the government’s policy would continue to prioritize the interests of the armed forces in maintaining peace. This statement came amidst a festive gathering, underscoring India’s commitment to both security and diplomatic engagement with its neighbors.
