New Delhi: India has launched a major relief operation for earthquake-hit Myanmar, with five aircraft carrying search and rescue teams, essential supplies, and a field hospital, confirmed MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal.
Speaking on the humanitarian effort, Jaiswal said, “One aircraft took off this morning, followed by two more carrying search and rescue teams. By evening, two additional aircraft will be airlifted with a field hospital, making it five aircraft for the time being.”
The relief operation comes in response to the devastating earthquake in Myanmar, which caused the collapse of several buildings. India has swiftly mobilized aid, reinforcing its commitment to regional disaster response and cooperation.
Jaiswal also confirmed no casualties among Indian nationals in Myanmar, providing relief to families concerned about their safety. India’s proactive response aligns with its broader efforts in disaster management, including the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), aimed at strengthening global infrastructure resilience.
