Talcher, Odisha: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited Talcher on Wednesday to pay homage to former Union Minister Dr. Debendra Pradhan, who passed away earlier this week. Remembering him as a scholar, a visionary leader, and a compassionate individual, Singh highlighted Dr. Pradhan’s contributions to Odisha’s development and his dream of a ‘Shaktishali Bharat’ (Strong India).
Singh, who worked with Dr. Pradhan in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government, recalled their interactions with deep fondness. “He was a well-read and scholarly person, widely respected for his warm and kind-hearted nature. His vision for Odisha’s development and his commitment to serving the marginalized sections of society were truly inspiring,” Singh stated.
Dr. Debendra Pradhan, a prominent political figure, played a crucial role in advancing welfare programs for the poor and underprivileged. His son, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, continues his legacy in public service.
