By A Staff Reporter: The Supreme Court has issued a directive to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, preventing him from interfering with the prosecution in the ongoing 2015 cash-for-vote case. The court also ruled that the senior officer of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) overseeing the case should refrain from reporting to the Telangana CM about the trial’s prosecution.

In its judgment, the Supreme Court rejected a petition seeking to move the trial outside Telangana, underscoring that all constitutional functionaries—whether executive, legislative, or judicial—must perform their duties independently while maintaining mutual respect for each branch of government.

The court also cautioned against hasty remarks on judicial decisions, emphasizing that while constructive criticism is welcome, comments on court orders must be measured. This came in response to Revanth Reddy's prior remarks on the Supreme Court's decision to grant bail to BRS leader K Kavitha. Noting the CM's apology for these comments, the court chose to close the proceedings, stating that no further action would be taken.
