New Delhi – Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari came together to launch the English translation of the second volume of noted novelist Vishwas Patil’s historical series on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The event, held in the national capital, celebrated Patil’s extensive research and storytelling on the life of the legendary Maratha warrior.
Speaking at the event, Tharoor praised the book, calling it a “very well-written and well-translated” work of historical literature. He highlighted the significance of Patil’s quartet, which provides a detailed narrative on Shivaji Maharaj, and noted that the first two volumes have already been translated into English.
“It was a very good event. Vishwas Patil is a noted novelist and a best-selling writer, and he’s writing a quartet on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, of which the first two volumes have come out in English translation. So today was the launch of the second volume’s English translation, and Gadkari Sahab and I came to unveil it. I think it's a wonderful book, very well translated, very well written, and of great interest to all of us in many ways,” Tharoor said.
