Himachal Pradesh Declares Holiday on 22nd Jan for Pran-Pratishtha

Himachal Pradesh is the first Congress-ruled state to join the long list of BJP-ruled states and union territories declaring public holidays and half-days on 22nd January to mark the occasion of the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony.

BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent development, Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh on Sunday announced public holidays on 22nd January to observe the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony.

Himachal Pradesh is the first Congress-ruled state to join the long list of BJP-ruled states and union territories declaring public holidays and half-days on 22nd January to mark the occasion of the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony. The list includes major states like Assam, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and many more. Earlier today, Assam CM Himanta Biswa also declared a holiday on 22nd January in the state. 

This comes a day before the much-awaited Pran-Pratishtha ceremony. The Ram Temple consecration rituals began on January 16 Tuesday and will continue for seven days. The final ritual will be performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22nd January. Over 7,000 dignitaries will attend the grand Pran-Pratishtha ceremony on 22nd January in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
