Delhi | Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) President Chirag Paswan on Friday criticized the opposition for its strong resistance to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which was recently passed in the Lok Sabha.
“Anything that the Modi government brings is labeled unconstitutional and a ‘black day’ by the opposition,” Paswan said. He accused opposition leaders of deliberately creating fear among the public rather than engaging in factual discussions.
"Their only role now is to set false narratives and create an atmosphere of fear among people. How many opposition leaders were actually speaking based on facts yesterday?" he questioned, dismissing their arguments as politically motivated.
The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, which aims to reform the administration of Waqf properties, has drawn sharp criticism from opposition parties, who claim it undermines minority rights. However, Paswan and other ruling party leaders insist the bill promotes transparency and efficiency in Waqf management.
