BY A STAFF REPORTER: In a recent development, Jharkhand's Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday declared a half-day for all government offices and a holiday for all the government schools on Monday marking the occasion of the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony.
As per Jharkhand CM Office's post on X (formerly Twitter), the CM has directed the Chief Secretary to close all government offices until 2:30 PM and all government schools for the whole day. After Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand is the second Congress-ruled (Congress-JMM coalition) state to declare a holiday on the occasion of the Pran-Pratishtha ceremony. The list of states declaring holidays includes major states like Assam, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, and many more. Earlier today, Assam CM Himanta Biswa also declared a holiday on 22nd January in the state.
This comes a day before the much-awaited Pran-Pratishtha ceremony. The Ram Temple consecration rituals began on January 16 Tuesday and will continue for seven days. The final ritual will be performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 22nd January. Over 7,000 dignitaries will attend the grand Pran-Pratishtha ceremony on 22nd January in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
