By a Staff Reporter: The Independence Day struggle was not just one or two days. That fight was against 200 years of subjugation. As a result, it was never possible for anyone to carry on the fight alone. If not at that time all the countrymen would have roared from house to house. As a result, if the question is asked who played the biggest role in bringing freedom to India, the answer will be only one. This fight was of the country, so every person of the country was a Freedom Fighter. And today I will tell you about Bengal's Birbhoomi, the place of brave warriors, that is, Birbhum, the heroes of Birbhum. Independence would have been difficult for Bengal without a fight.

The role of Rabindranath Tagore's beloved Rani Chanda in Bolpur in the non-cooperation movement of 1942 is undeniable. Despite being born in Medinipur, she came to Santiniketan to study and she grasped Birbhum. She played an active role in the 'Quit India' movement in Bengal.

Sandhya Rani Singha's name comes naturally when it comes to freedom struggle on red soil. She joined the Congress on the inspiration of her husband Lalbihari Singha. Sandhya Rani was involved in the freedom struggle since then. She played an active role in the Satyagraha movement of 1941. Sandhya Rani used to arrange everything for the freedom fighters to stay and eat.

In 1914 she was known as 'Masima'. 'Masima' aka Dukribala Chakraborty played an active role in looting Roda Company's pistols and cartridges. Both father-in-law's house and father's house were in Nalhati area. And from there she fought for the country. Dukribala's cousin was the savior. Both were caught by the police while looting weapons and were sentenced to rigorous imprisonment. Dukribala was the first woman freedom fighter to be caught under the Arms Act in the freedom struggle.
