Hawala scandal: Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Babu Singh arrested

By A Staff Reporter : Former Jammu and Kashmir minister Jatinder Singh alias Babu Singh arrested in Hawala case. He is arrested from Kathua district on Saturday. Babu Singh was absconding since March 31, after police busted a Hawala racket. After arrest, he was brought to Jammu for further questioning.Babu Singh was a minister in the PDP-Congress government led by Mufti Saeed in 2002-2005 and is currently the chairman of an organization called the Nature-Mankind Friendly Global Party. Babu Singh's whereabouts came to light after the arrest of Mohammad Sharif Shah, a resident of Kokarnag area from Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
