Daw family's Durga Puja

Kolkata:There are only a few days left in hand, after which Durga Puja will start. And in the midst of the theme puja of Durga Puja, the worship of Banedi Ghar seems to be losing some of its charm. However, over the years, members of several Banedi households in Kolkata have been worshipping the mother, maintaining their tradition. Such as the Shivkrishna Daw family. Located in Jorasanko in north Kolkata, The House of Shivakrishna Daan is beautifully maintained and has been used for the shooting of many films.  The 'Thakur Dalan' sits beautifully overlooking the clean columns and overhanging the verandahs. Priyabrata Dan, a member of the daan ghar, said that although the preparations for the puja are going on in full swing, some customs are changing this year too. Since no specific rules have been issued by the state government so far, they are already in discussions on some of the rules, even though a final decision has not been taken.
