BY A STAFF REPORTER: As the Interim Budget Session adjourned today, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman highlighted the key pillars of the Interim budget including Governance, Development, and Performance for the session 2024-25 during a press briefing on 1st February.
In terms of governance, the FM asserted that the current government managed the economy with appropriate intentions, policies, and decisions. She described India's performance in the economy as the fastest-growing country in the G20, citing three years in a row of 7% growth, with significant participation from all of the nation's regions. She further stated that the government, in terms of development, has worked towards improving citizens' lives, bolstering their earnings, and fostering high ambitions for the future.
The Interim Budget Session will continue till 9th February in the new Parliament building. A joint sitting of upper house and lower house of the parliament will be attending the session. Moreover, the full budget will be presented once the new government assumes the office after upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
