Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader Milind Deora has praised Eknath Shinde's leadership for the party's successful performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra. "I don't want to comment on who is in touch and who is not in touch. What I would say is that, under Mr. Shinde's leadership, the Shiv Sena has done well in Maharashtra in Lok Sabha elections. We have a good strike rate," Deora stated, addressing speculation about internal party dynamics.
Deora highlighted that many had doubted the Shiv Sena's prospects under Shinde, but the results have proven otherwise. "Many people were writing off the Shiv Sena under Eknath Shinde. It has done well," he said confidently.
Looking ahead, Deora expressed optimism about the collaborative efforts of the central and state governments under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. "I am confident that in the weeks, months, and years ahead, under the leadership of the Prime Minister at the Central level and the Chief Minister at the State level, both governments will work for the welfare of Mumbaikars and Maharashtraians," he stated.
Deora emphasized the commonalities between Modi and Shinde, noting their humble beginnings and significant political achievements. "There is a common thread between both leaders. Both have come from very humble backgrounds. One has risen to become the Prime Minister of the world's largest democracy. The other has risen to become the Chief Minister of the country's second-largest state. So, both these leaders will work in unison for the benefit of Maharashtra, benefit of India," he concluded.
